Boundaries: How to set (and keep) them.

Stop Letting Work Take Over Your Life

Hellllloooo humans!!!

(Too much energy? Sorry… have you had your magic juice yet? My human says I shouldn’t bother them until they drink their magic juice.) ☕

Anyways...

Welcome to REMOTivatEd!
The newsletter that helps you work smarter, not harder—so you can reclaim your time, energy, and sanity.

Today’s topic: Boundaries.
You’ll learn why they matter, how to set them, and how to actually enforce them (without guilt).

Is Work Taking More Than It Gives?

Work-life balance isn’t about being able to do it all. Let’s be real—that’s a myth.

Really, work-life balance is having enough energy at the end of the day for what truly matters.

That’s why taking breaks and doing what you need to conserve energy is so important. And one of the best ways to protect your energy? Boundaries.

We all know this, but how often do we actually practice what we preach?

How to Set (and Keep) Your Boundaries:

1️⃣ Decide what matters most.
Your boundaries should reflect your biggest struggles and values. I can’t write your boundaries for you because only you know what those are.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • If you are a workaholic, set a no-overtime rule.

  • If you miss out on time with family, establish non-negotiable time slots or choose to always eat dinner with your kids..

  • If you struggle to unplug, stop checking emails after 7 PM.

  • If you don’t know when to quit, always close your laptop at 5pm.

2️⃣ Write them down.
Draw a line—literally. Seeing it written out makes it real and helps you stick to it.

3️⃣ Prepare a response.
When someone (or even you) tries to cross your boundary, have a script ready:

  • “I don’t work past 5.”

  • “I always eat dinner with my family.”

  • “I’ll get back to you tomorrow.”

Only you know what you need, so give it to yourself, because you deserve it!

What’s one boundary you need to set? Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to hear!

Georgia’s Take: Protect What’s Yours

If Bailey tries to eat out of my food bowl, SWAT! He’s met with a paw whack.

I’m only defending what’s mine.

If humans knew what was best for them, they’d guard their time like I guard my food. Since you don't have 9 lives like me, your time is limited and therefore, valuable.

If it were me, I’d take control of my time and make the most of it.

Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s time for me to go remind Bailey who’s in charge (me!).
