Glass half full or glass half empty?

The Power of "Pawsitivity"

Hey there, and welcome to REMOTivatEd! The newsletter designed to help you thrive in remote work.

Glass half full, or glass half empty?
Today’s issue is all about the power of “pawsitivity”—and it’s a topic that’s especially close to my heart.

I’m from the Midwest, and if you’ve ever lived here, you know how cold and gloomy it can get this time of year. It’s easy to fall into what they call the winter blues. So, today, we’re focusing on staying positive.

The Power of Focus
Have you ever noticed that once you buy a new car, you start seeing that same car everywhere?

It was there the whole time, but once you start paying attention, it’s almost like they’re multiplying. The same thing happens with your mindset.

When you start noticing the good things in life, they tend to show up more and more. That’s why I believe it’s so important to focus on the positives.

Gratitude in Action
We often take the little joys for granted, don’t we? I know you’ve heard about the power of gratitude a million times (because I have), but it wasn’t until recently that I really let it sink in. And wow—it’s had such a profound impact on my life.

Taking just a moment to appreciate what you have can make you feel lighter, more grounded.

Exercise
So, right now—pause for a second and think about a few things that you are grateful for. Can you name 5?

Here are some ideas:

  • The flexibility this remote job gives you

  • Something in your space that you’re grateful for (maybe a gift from someone on your desk or a piece of art in your office)

  • Something that brings you joy

Your Turn
I’d love for you to reply to this email and share what you see around you that created joy today.

I know this might feel a little off-topic for a remote work newsletter, but I believe that fostering more positivity and joy is key to success, both in work and in life.

You know how dogs wag their tails when they’re happy? It’s like our way of sharing joy with the world!

So, tell me, what’s one way YOU express joy in your life? Maybe it’s through art, music, a good workout, or just a big belly laugh. I’d love to hear about it!
